NHE was founded in May of 2001 by a group of home educators in the Jackson, Tennessee area.

The NHE Council consists of:

Brenda Keeton -- Chairman

Alice Farough -- Membership Coordinator

Phyllis Broadus -- Public Relations Director

Additional Positions include:

James Keeton -- Treasurer

Undecided at this time-- New Member Orientation Coordinator

Emily York -- Secretary

NHE has members in a variety of counties in West Tennessee.
